My first trend-focused (This is (Gonna Be) Huge) blog was a fan favorite and you guys wanted more…now introducing the Summer 2019 Trend Alert!!! From head to toe, I’ve got you covered with 6 big trends for the summer and my favorite pieces for each.
Hair Accessories
This past spring we’ve had a taste of some hair accessories, but get ready to go all in this summer. Let’s leave the pearl clips in the past (cute, but they’ve had their time to shine). Look to headbands, head scarves, and bandanas to add to your wardrobe (neck up) to add some color, fun, and function to your summer look. The convertible’s waiting.
(Clockwise)
- Nude Clip
- Red/ Blue Hair Tie
- Nude Bandana (If you want a bandana I would just look for a vintage one at a local thrift shop)
- Red Headband Scarf
- Karl Lagerfeld
- Black Thick headband
Tie-Dye
Say it with me: THIS IS THE SUMMER OF TIE DYE. I love how playful and colorful this trend is- perfect from the poolside to cute city restaurants! So many brands are hopping on board with this trend so it shouldn’t be too hard to find some epic pieces, but here are a few of my favorites at the moment:
(clockwise)
- Tie Dye Dress
- Yellow Crop
- Casual Shorts (10% of sales from n:Philanthropy go to charity! Yay!)
- Sweats
- Swim Suit
- Zip Up Hoodie
Colored Cords
Corduroys have always been a classic, but they’re truly making a colorful comeback for the summer. Don’t be too scared about overheating.. brands are making lighter cords so they are humidity/ 80 degree approved. Time to learn something from the Corduroy the bear… next time you’re reaching for color, go for these!
(clockwise)
- Blue Shorts (& kinda matching jacket)
- Lilac Jacket
- Orange Jacket
- Blue Pants
- Pink Shorts
- Pink Pants (I own and love these)

Comfortable Sets
The days of floral and gingham sets are coming to and end, but don’t shed a tear- following closely behind is something a bit more preferable- comfortable “lounge” sets. I have a few of these and they are my absolute GO-TO. Whether running errands or hanging around the house, these are the first thing I reach for. All your cute lounge-wear prayers are answered, here are a few of my favorites:
- Skirt Set- Sweater and Skirt
